INSURANCE INFORMATION

We know insurance. We work with major insurance companies every day.

Lone Star Elite Roofing understands that filing an insurance claim for your roof can be difficult and tedious. This is especially true if you do not follow certain procedures.

Most insurance companies want to service their clients’ claims. However, it is still important to understand the proper procedures and what questions to ask.

At Lone Star Elite Roofing, we are experts in the insurance restoration process. Our staff is ready to offer assistance and accurate information in your roof insurance claim process.

The first call you should make is to a reputable, licensed roofing contractor to get a roof assessment.

We know insurance. We work with major insurance companies every day.

At Lone Star Elite Roofing, we can check your roof for damage and provide you with an assessment and photo inspection report. You may need this for your claim. We will help you gather and provide information to your insurance company.

Then, after your roof damage has been assessed, you may be advised to file a claim. You should call your insurance carrier’s claims office, not your insurance agent. Many agents are not responsible for or trained to handle the claims aspect of your policy.

When You Work With Us, We Walk You Through the Roof Insurance Claim Process Step by Step!

STEPS TO TAKE

1. Insurance Claim

Your insurance company will assign you a claim number and an adjuster. Be sure to note this number, as it is essential for the entire process. It may take a few days to receive your adjuster’s contact details. When you speak with them, request their direct phone number for easier communication.

Your adjuster will schedule an appointment to assess your roof’s damage. Inform them that you are working with Lone Star Elite Roofing and that a representative will attend the inspection with you.

Next, contact your Lone Star Elite Roofing representative and provide the adjuster’s name, contact information, and appointment time.

Important Note: Your insurance company may request multiple estimates, but this isn’t always in your best interest. Seeking multiple bids could lead to a lower-quality roof, as insurers often prioritize cost savings over quality.

You are not required to obtain estimates—Lone Star Elite Roofing will help submit the necessary documentation to ensure a fair settlement. With us, you’ll receive a premium roof system designed for long-term durability.

2. Damage Assessment

The adjuster’s inspection is a crucial step in the claims process. Ensure they know your Lone Star Elite Roofing representative will be present.

Having us at the inspection is vital—if there are disagreements about the damage or scope of work, we’ll advocate for you. Insurance companies aim to minimize payouts, so our expertise ensures your claim is accurately represented.

During the inspection, the adjuster will measure roof damage. When possible, Lone Star Elite Roofing will provide a satellite image and engineered report to verify measurements. Our thorough preparation gives you confidence in a fair assessment.

3. Fair Settlement

After evaluating the damage, the adjuster will issue a claim summary outlining repair or replacement details. Once you receive this, forward it to us. We’ll compare it with our assessment to ensure nothing is missing.

If discrepancies arise, our insurance specialist will assist in negotiating with the insurer. Typically, this involves submitting our estimate and discussing differences via email, fax, or phone.

If the insurer denies key components of your claim, we may recommend a conference call between you, your provider, and Lone Star Elite Roofing to resolve the issue. If approved, the insurer will issue a supplemental payment.

4. Funding

You’ll typically receive the first check around the same time as the claim summary. If your mortgage company is listed, contact them promptly for endorsement—this can take time.

The initial payment may seem low due to your deductible and depreciation. Most policies are Replacement Cost Value (RCV), meaning we’ll recover withheld depreciation after completing the job.

Remember: You are responsible for paying your deductible (your copay) directly to Lone Star Elite Roofing. The total roof cost includes:

-Initial insurance payment

-Your deductible

-Recovered depreciation

-Any supplements

5. Roof Repair or Replacement

Once we receive the first check, deductible, and insurance statement, work begins. If we discover additional damage during the project, we’ll document it and submit a supplemental claim for approval.

6. Recovering Depreciation

After completing the project, we’ll notify your insurer and request the release of withheld depreciation. They may contact you to verify completion before issuing the final payment.

If your mortgage company is involved, they may require an inspection before endorsing the check. Be sure to follow their procedures.

7. Final Payment

Once you receive the last insurance check (and mortgage endorsement, if applicable), we’ll collect the remaining balance. Depreciation payments are due only after you receive the check. As a courtesy, we allow a grace period if mortgage approval delays the process.

With Lone Star Elite Roofing, you’ll receive expert guidance every step of the way—ensuring a high-quality roof and a smooth claims experience.
